Winding down Monday evening. Hard to believe we began this adventure only yesterday morning! Seems like an eternity, yet it's barely begun!
We meet JS tomorrow. Still very surreal. He is actually being brought to our hostel. The social worker comes and maybe other icbf staff, and our attorney and translator. They put on a party with cake. It sounds wonderful, a true celebration!
Also, I should probably do a quick "safety" update. The long and short of it is that we've felt very safe, both in Bogota and Mocoa. People have been incredibly kind. We are being smart of course, but not fearful. So please, don't worry. :-)
We also successfully purchased empanadas (oh yum) and some pan (bread) that was so incredible we went back for another loaf. So far we love it here and can't wait to see more.
P. S. One photo is from a street carnival in Mocoa. The other is of a bunch of chickens that crack me up. :-)
Oh, this is so exciting!!! I love empanadas!!!!!
